Introduction

On this page, you can configure report parameters by clicking the Parameters tab. The report parameters have been designed via the Report Builder or BI Development Studio. You can configure report parameters with default values from Exact Synergy Enterprise. It is also possible to hide the report parameters on the view page of the report. Report parameters can also be configured to show a standard Exact Synergy Enterprise search browser as a helper for the user. This assists the user to choose only available values from the Exact Synergy Enterprise entities (tables).

Roles and rights

By default, users with the Administrator or Report manager role can configure report parameters.

What version are you using?

The information in this document is applicable to product update 258 and higher. If you have versions lower than this, certain features explained here will not be applicable.

How do I configure report parameters?

On the Reporting Services Integration: Management page, select a report from the list available under the Reports section.
Click the Parameters tab, and then click the hyperlink in the Name column to configure a report parameter.
On the Parameter: Report page, define the fields.
Click Save, and then Close to exit.

Name

This displays the name of the report parameter.

Term + Term ID

Type the term for the report parameter. Type the term ID in the next box to display the report parameter in the preferred language of the user.

Default value

Select the default value which will be used for the report parameter. You can select only one of the following options:

Account card - Select this option to use the account code from the account card.
As designed - Select this option to use the default value as designed in the report.
Current user (ID) - Select this option to use the ID of the current user who is viewing the report.
Current user (Name) - Select this option to use the login name of the current user who is viewing the report.
Current user cost center - Select this option to use the cost center of the current user who is viewing the report.
Current user division - Select this option to use the division of the current user who is viewing the report.
Current user division group - Select this option to use the division group of the current user who is viewing the report.
Current user job activity - Select this option to use the job activity of the current user who is viewing the report.
Current user job group - Select this option to use the job group of the current user who is viewing the report.
Current user security level - Select this option to use the security level of the current user who is viewing the report.
Default value - Select this option to specify a default value for the report parameter.
Item card - Select this option to use the item code from the item card.
Opportunity card - Select this option to use the opportunity code from the opportunity card.
Personal card - Select this option to use the employee ID from the personal card.
Project card - Select this option to use the project code from the project card.
Real user (ID) - Select this option to use the ID of the current real user who is viewing the report in case of delegation.
Synergy URL - Select this option to use the value from the current Synergy URL, for example, http://gird16372-1/Synergy.
URL parameter - Select this option to use the value from a named parameter in the URL.

Hidden

Select this check box to hide the report parameter when the user views the report, see View reports.

Value

Type the default value or the named parameter in the URL.

Note: This is available only if you have selected the option Default value or URL parameter.

Browser

Select this check box to link a browser to the report parameter.

Dependency

Select this check box to enable the dependency feature for the selected report parameter.
