Introduction

Web services are business components offered to IT systems for usage. The business components may be a collection or combination of business logic, data, and processes but without a visual interface. By publishing these out in the open, other systems can retrieve and use the components to enhance their own features. The receiving system does not need to know how the web service works. It only needs to submit the required information and the web service will provide the relevant results. This automatically allows a system to communicate with other systems by publishing only selected information on a need-to-know basis.

The web services provided in Exact Synergy Enterprise ensure that data stored in Exact Synergy Enterprise can be retrieved and manipulated by other systems. This will allow you to easily extend stored data to the other systems. Thus, you will have a platform where you can integrate with your other existing systems.
