Creating and maintaining preventive maintenance schedules for Service management

Introduction

This page allows you to create and maintain preventive maintenance schedules to generate one or multiple preventive maintenance requests per serial number of an item. These preventive maintenance requests are used to plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules for items that have been serialized or parts of items that have been serialized.

What version are you using?

The information in this document is based on product update 247.

How do I create a preventive maintenance schedule?

  1. From the Preventive maintenance schedules page, click New.
  2. Under the General section, fill in the Code, Type, and Description fields.
  3. Select the Active check box to activate the preventive maintenance schedules.   
  4. On the Selection section, select Assortment, Item or Serial number option.
  5. Under the Criteria section, fill in the Start date, select the Time Interval check box and fill in the number of time units in the box on the right. Select the Days or Months option at the same field.
  6. Then, select the Usage Interval check box and fill in the number of units in the box on the right.
  7. Next, select Previous request or Fixed schedule at Start next request.
  8. Select Always, Only when contract exist, or Only when no contract exists at Contract.
  9. Under the Service activity defaults section, fill in the Activity Start time and Activity duration fields.
  10. Click Save.

Keep in mind: All fields with the “!” icon are mandatory.

How do I edit a preventive maintenance schedule?

  1. From the Preventive maintenance schedules page, select a preventive maintenance schedule that you have created.
  2. Edit the relevant fields under the General, Selection, Criteria, and Service activity defaults sections.
  3. Click Save

How do I delete a preventive maintenance schedule?

  1. On the Preventive maintenance schedules page, select the necessary preventive maintenance schedule and click the Delete button.

Buttons

Save

Click this to save the defined details.

Save + New

Click this to save the details of the preventive maintenance schedules and create another preventive maintenance schedule.

Note: This button is available only if you are creating a preventive maintenance schedule.

Delete

Click this to delete the selected preventive maintenance schedule.

Note: This button is only available once you have saved the information.

Close

Click this to exit.

Fields

General section

Code

Type the preventive maintenance type alphanumeric code for the preventive maintenance schedule. This is mandatory.

Type

Type an alphanumeric code for the preventive maintenance schedule. This is mandatory.

Description

Type the description for the preventive maintenance schedule. This is mandatory.

Active

Select this check box to activate this preventive maintenance schedule. By default, the Active check box is selected.

Criteria section

Time Interval

Select this check box to indicate that the preventive maintenance schedule should work on a time interval and fill in the number of time units in the box on the right. Select the Days or Months option at the same field.

Usage Interval

Select this check box to indicate that the preventive maintenance schedule should work on a usage interval and fill in the number of units in the box on the right.

Start next request

Select Previous request or Fixed schedule option for the preventive maintenance schedule.

Contract

Select the Always, Only when contract exist, or Only when no contract exists option to generate the preventive maintenance schedule.

Service activity defaults section

Activity Start time

Type the activity start time for the preventive maintenance schedule created.

Activity duration

Type the activity duration for the preventive maintenance schedule created.
