Adding social media references for accounts and contact persons

Introduction

This page allows you to add social media to accounts or contact persons.

Roles and rights

  • To allow the main contact person of the reseller to have web access, function right 121 – Allows to give web access to main contact person of reseller is required. Users with the Customer manager or Reseller manager role have this function right.
  • To allow the main contact person of the supplier to have web access, function right 488– Allows to give web access to main contact person of supplier is required. Users with the Supplier manager role have this function right.
  • To view the contact card, function right 524 – View account card is required. Users with the Customer manager role have this function right.

How do I add social media for accounts?

  1. From Customers à Reports à Accounts à Search, define the required fields, and then click Show.
  2. Click the required account hyperlink under the Account name column.
  3. Click Add under the External References section. The External reference page will be displayed.
  4. Select the type of social medium to be added at Type.
  5. Type the web site address used in the respective social medium of the account at Link, for example, “www.twitter.com/paintworldinc”.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Click Close to exit.

Keep in mind: All fields with the “!” icon are mandatory.

How do I add social media for contact persons?

  1. From Customers à Reports à Contacts à Search, define the required fields, and then click Show.
  2. Click the required contact person hyperlink under the Contact: Last name column.
  3. Click Add under the External References section. By default, this section is not displayed in the contact card. To customize the sections to be displayed, click  Customize.
  4. On the External reference page, select the type of social medium to be added at Type.
  5. Type the web site address used in the respective social media of the contact person at Link, for example, “www.twitter.com/james”.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Click Close to exit.
