Product Updates 421, 420, and 419: Introduction to ATCUD and QR codes (Portuguese legislation)

In accordance to the Ordinance 195/2020, starting from January 1, 2021 onwards, it is mandatory for companies to include the two-dimensional bar code (QR) in the invoices.

In this product update, the document layouts have been improved to allow you to generate the necessary ATCUD and QR codes in the invoice layouts. The functionality is applicable to the following layouts:

  • Invoice
  • IBT / RTV
  • Delivery note / RMA 

The improvements are as follows:

Note that when you select the option ISE, PT-AC ISE, or PT-MA ISE, the value for the percentage must be set to “0”.

Settings

Company data settings

The software certificate information can now be defined at the Software certificate field under the Numbers section in Company data settings (accessible via System  General Settings Company data settings). The field supports up to 30 alpha-numeric characters.


Numbers settings

The ATCUD information can now be defined at the Delivery note number and Interbranch transfer number fields under the Logistics section in Numbers settings (accessible via System General Settings Numbers settings).


By clicking the icon at the fields, the ATCUD definition screen will be displayed, in which you can define the information at the ATCUD field. The field supports up to 60 alpha-numeric characters.


Invoice code screen

The ATCUD information can now be defined in the Invoice code screen at the ATCUD field under the General section. The field supports up to 60 alpha-numeric characters.


Layout

The following fields have been made available for the document layouts:

  • ATCUD
  • ATCUD series
  • Unique Document Identification
  • QR code 

The fields will be made available for the following document layouts:

  • Invoice
  • Direct invoice
  • Credit note
  • Direct credit note
  • IBT delivery note
  • Delivery note
  • Returns: Supplier
  • Returns: Employee 

Before using this new functionality, ensure that when selecting option Codigo QR at the layout field, the drop-down field remains blank. This is important in order for the size of the QR code to be displayed according to the recommended dimensions.

Note: Selecting the QR code only option at the drop-down field will result in a display of a larger QR code than specified in the invoice format requirements.

QR code

The structure and content of the QR code consist of codes that represent different information, such as VAT number of the company, customer, document type, et cetera.

The following specifications must be complied when preparing the QR code:

  • Error Recovery Rate (ECC): “M”
  • Type: Byte
  • Points per module (Size): 2
  • Version: v=9 (minimum value)
  • Image dimensions: minimum 30x30 millimeters
  • Safety margin (margin): 0.25 cm
