What has been changed

The following change has been implemented for American and Canadian legislations when the Avalara taxation check box under the Avalara settings section at Avalara settings and under the Tax section in the Financial tab of account receivable maintenance is selected:

AvaTax code added to delivery address maintenance

Under the Contact tab of account receivable maintenance, AvaTax code is added to the delivery address maintenance. This is applicable to customer, suspect, lead, prospect, associate, and reseller account types. However, for suspect, lead, and prospect account types, AvaTax code will be available only when the account code is filled.

Default AvaTax codes

The following default AvaTax codes are applied to entry lines when making logistics entries:

  • The AvaTax code will be based on AvaTax code in the customer delivery address maintenance.
  • If AvaTax code in the customer delivery address maintenance is not defined, the AvaTax code will be based on AvaTax code under the Tax section in the Financial tab of the accounts receivable maintenance.
  • If AvaTax code under the Tax section in the Financial tab of the accounts receivable maintenance is not defined, the AvaTax code will be based on Default AvaTax code under the Entry section in Avalara settings.
  • If Default AvaTax code under the Entry section in Avalara settings is not defined, then you need to define the AvaTax code at the entry line when making logistics entries.

This is applicable to the following entries:

  • Quotations
  • Sales orders
  • RMA orders
  • Recurring sales orders
  • Sales invoices
  • Recurring sales invoices
  • Direct invoices
  • Sales credit notes
  • Service orders
