On this page, you can configure the frame layout, the navigation frame type, the header frame type, and the top banner of a website or an existing one. In addition, you can configure a workspace for the customer, supplier, or reseller portal. This workspace is the first page that will be displayed when customers, suppliers, or resellers log in to the respective portals.
All users can view the configurations for the websites and workspaces. To be able to delete any configuration, function right 268 – Maintain websites is required. To configure the website or workspace settings, or modify the configurations from the overview page, function right 276 – Maintain websites, corporate level is required. By default, users with the Web administrator role have these function rights.
Note:
The information in this document is applicable to product update 259 and higher. If you have versions lower than this, certain features explained here will not be applicable.
Keep in mind: All fields with the “!” icon is mandatory.
Click this to exit.
Click this to save the configuration for the website or workspace.
Click this to delete the website or workspace from the system. This action will delete the website settings including the uploaded HTML files. However, linked documents, ASPX files, and pictures are not affected.
Note: This available only when you are modifying an existing configuration for a website or workspace.
Type the name of the website or workspace. This is mandatory. This text will also become the title of the website in the visitor's browser or the name of the workspace.
Select or clear this check box to activate or deactivate the website or workspace respectively. Deactivated websites remain in the system but are not available to visitors. All websites and workspaces that have been deactivated cannot be previewed from the overview page.
Select the type of the website or workspace. Each type has different settings, routing methods, and search options. The following types are available:
This section is available only if Workspace is selected at Format.
Type or select the workspace for the reseller, customer, or supplier portal.
Type or select the division code to link the workspace to this division.
Select an account classification to link the workspace to this classification. This setting is only available for workspaces of types Reseller portal and Customer portal.
Note: Although not mandatory, if the Sector field is defined, this setting is required for routing to work as expected.
Select an account sector to link the workspace to this account sector. This field is available only for workspaces of types Reseller portal and Customer portal.
Select the language for the workspace.
Type the keywords to set as Meta keywords for the workspace.
Select this check box to display the menu bar on the workspace for the customer, supplier, or reseller portal. If this is not selected, the menu bar will not be available on the workspace. Hence, all the check boxes at Show menu options will not be enabled for selection.
Select the Main menu, Search, Create, Modules, and/or Workspaces catalogue check boxes to make the respective access points available for the customer, supplier, or reseller portal.
Note: These check boxes are enabled only if the Show menu bar check box is selected.
You can configure the general settings, layout, and routing of your website. The availability of the settings depends on the type of website you are creating. This section is available only if Website is selected at Format.
Select or type A, B, C, or D to set the frameset layout for this website. The following is a description of each frameset layout:
Type or select a division code to link the website to this division. Websites not linked to any division become corporate websites.
Note: This setting also becomes a routing criterion for authenticated portals.
Type the assigned domain or domain header names of the website. If you type more than one name, separate the names with semicolons (;). This field is available and this information is mandatory only for websites of type Standard.
Select an account classification to link the website to this classification. This setting is only available for websites of types Reseller portal and Customer portal.
Select an account sector to link the website to this account sector. Clear this setting for routing of all account sectors under the same account classification, accounts with no account sector, and accounts with the Unknown account sector. This setting is only available for websites of types Reseller portal and Customer portal.
Select a language to assign this language to the website. This will set the language metadata for web purposes.
Note: The language setting influences the language of several special forms such as CRMQuestionnaire.aspx (a web form you can use in your website to allow public visitors to create requests).
Type the keywords to set as Meta keywords for the website. Separate each keyword with a comma (,). These keywords are added as metadata to the website frameset to be used by search engines.
Select No, Left, or Right to hide or position the vertical pane of the website. This setting influences the position of Frame - Lefthand for layout types A, B, and D. Selecting No has the same effect as using layout C where the navigation pane content is hidden but left intact in the database for reuse later.
Select Document, Layout, or URL to define the type of the first page of the content pane.
Select a document, document layout, or mail merge layout as the first page of the content pane. This setting is available and mandatory only if Document is selected at Type.
Note: You will not be able to save this website configuration if the security level of the selected document is not compatible with the type of website. For the Standard website type, you can use a document of any security level equal to or lower than your security level but only documents at the security level of the website visitor is displayed to the visitor. In the case of a public website, select a document with security level "0" to avoid a missing first page.
Select the front page layout or list layout as the first page of the content pane. This setting is available and mandatory only if Layout is selected at Type.
Note: You can use any front page or list layouts. However, only items with security levels equal to or lower than the security level of web visitors will be displayed to the web visitor in the front page or list.
Type the URL of a web resource located anywhere in the World Wide Web to use as the first page of the content pane. This setting is available and mandatory only if URL is selected at Type.
You can configure the frame that holds the vertical pane in this section. The actual placement of the vertical pane, whether left, right, or hidden, depends on the frame of the website.
Type the frame width of the vertical pane in pixels. Click Default to reset the width to the default width of 175 pixels.
Select Default, HTML, ASPX, or Document to use this content type as the vertical pane. Select Default to configure a vertical navigation menu in the vertical pane.
Click Browse to select a HTML file in your computer or type the file path and filename to upload and use this file as the vertical pane. This setting is available only if HTML is selected at Use.
Note: Once the website is saved, this field is empty. However, the HTML file uploaded earlier is still in use as the vertical pane. In case you change the value at the Use field under the Frame - Lefthand section to another, the uploaded HTML file is kept in the system and is reused when you revert to using HTML. To replace the current HTML file used for the vertical pane, assign another HTML file and click Save.
Type the filename of the ASPX file to use this file as the vertical pane. This setting is available only if ASPX is selected at Use.
Note: The ASPX file must reside in the custom subfolder of your system installation. If the file is in a subfolder under the custom subfolder, prefix the relative path to the file name. For example, the file name is mypage.aspx in the myfiles subfolder of the custom subfolder. The relative path is myfiles/mypage.aspx. By default, the custom subfolder is not created by the system installation process.
Select a document to use this document as the vertical pane. This setting is available only if Document is selected at Use.
Note: You will not be able to save this website configuration if the security level of the selected document is not compatible with the type of website. For the Standard website type, you can use a document of any security level lower than your security level but only documents at the security level of the website visitor is displayed to the visitor. In the case of a public website, select a document with security level "0" to avoid a missing vertical pane.
Select a picture of type Logo to insert this picture at the top and center of the vertical pane. This setting is available only if Default is selected at Use.
Select a color to set this color as the general text color of the vertical navigation menu. The color strip will reflect your choice of color. If this setting is blank, the general text color is white. This setting is available only if Default is selected at Use.
Select Left, Right, or Center to set the text alignment of the general text in the vertical navigation menu. Leave this setting blank to use default web browser alignment. This setting is available only if Default is selected at Use.
Select this check box to create a list of front pages in the vertical navigation menu. The front pages included in this list are frontpage layouts where the Frontpages check box of the News section is selected, depending on the security level of the website visitor. This setting is available only if Default is selected at Use.
This section is only available if Default is selected at Use under the Frame - Lefthand section.
Select a picture of type Background to use this picture as the tiled graphic background filling the vertical pane.
Select a picture of type Background to use this picture as the left-aligned top background graphic of the vertical pane below the logo picture selected at Picture under the Frame - Lefthand section.
Select a picture of type Background to use this picture as the center-aligned bottom background graphic of the vertical pane.
Select a color to use this color as the background color of the vertical pane. The color strip will reflect your choice of color. If this setting is blank, the background color is white.
Note: The selected color is not visible to a web visitor if a picture is selected at Picture: Background.
Select this check box to create an Accounts search box in the vertical pane. This setting is available only if Default is selected at Use under the Frame - Lefthand section and the type of website is of type Reseller portal or Supplier portal.
Select this check this box to create a Requests search box in the vertical pane. This setting is available only if Default is selected at Use under the Frame - Lefthand section and the type of website is not Standard.
Select this check box to create a Projects search box in the vertical pane. This setting is available only if Default is selected at Use under the Frame - Lefthand section and the type of website is not Standard.
Select this check box to create a Documents search box in the vertical pane. This setting is available only if Default is selected at Use under the Frame - Lefthand section.
Select this check box to create an Items search box in the vertical pane. This setting is available only if Default is selected at Use under the Frame - Lefthand section.
Note: If you select this check box, you must select Simple or Catalogue as the Items search type to allow proper function of the Items search box.
This section is available only if Default is selected at Use under the Frame - Lefthand section. For more information on creating and modifying menu items for the vertical navigation menu, see Creating and modifying web site vertical navigation menu items.
Note: The settings of this section are saved in the system even if you change to a different option at Use under the Frame - Lefthand section. Whenever you revert to using Default at Use under the Frame - Lefthand section, all your vertical navigation menu items will be available again.
Click this to create a menu item for the vertical navigation menu.
Click a menu item number in this column to edit an existing menu item.
Click a menu item text description in this column to edit an existing menu item.
Note: Although the banner is available for all header pane types set at Use under the Frame - Header section, using the banner for HTML, ASPX, and Document types is not advisable as the banner settings may interfere with these types of Frame - Header. As an alternative, insert your own HTML marquee codes in your document, HTML, or ASPX file.
Type the text to be displayed in the banner.
Select this check box if you do not want to use the banner. It is advisable to hide the banner if Default or Tab is not selected at Use under the Frame - Header section.
Note: If the layout of the website is B and you want to use the banner, you may want to select Default at Use under the Frame - Header section and select a color at Color under the Frame - Header section. If you do not want this line to be visible under the banner, select the same color at both Color and Background under the Frame - Header and Banner sections respectively.
Select a color to set the banner text to this color. The color strip will reflect your choice of color.
Note: If this setting is blank, the banner text color is influenced by:
Select a color to set the banner background to this color. The color strip will reflect your choice of color. Clear this setting if you want the banner background to be transparent.
Select or clear this check box to set the banner text to scroll from right to left or to stay static respectively. Website visitors using browsers other than Microsoft Internet Explorer may only see a static banner regardless of this setting.
Select from 1 (slowest) to 5 (fastest) to set the scrolling speed of the banner text. This setting has no effect if the Marquee check box is not selected.
You can configure the frame that holds the header pane in this section. If the layout of the website is B, this section is only used if the Hide check box under the Banner section is not selected.
Type the frame height of the header pane in pixels. Click Default to reset the height to the default height of 70 pixels.
Note: If the layout of the website is B, this setting does not have any effect even though the Frame - Header settings are used when the Hide check box under the Banner section is not selected.
Select Default, HTML, ASPX, Document, or Tab to use this content type as the header pane. Select Default or Tab to configure a horizontal or tabbed navigation menu for the header pane.
Click Browse to select a HTML file in your computer or type the file path and file name to upload and use this file as the header pane. This setting is available only if HTML is selected at Use under the Frame - Header section.
Note: Once the website is saved, this field is empty. However, the HTML file uploaded earlier is still in use as the header pane. If you change the value at the Use field under the Frame - Header section to another, the uploaded HTML file is kept in the system and is reused when you revert to using HTML. To replace the current HTML file used for the header pane, assign another HTML file and click Save.
Type the filename of the ASPX file to use this file as the header pane. This setting is available only if ASPX is selected at Use in this section. Note: The ASPX file must reside in the custom subfolder of your system installation. If the file is in a subfolder under the custom subfolder, prefix the relative path to the filename. For example, the filename is mypage.aspx in the myfiles subfolder of the custom subfolder. The relative path is myfiles/mypage.aspx. By default, the custom subfolder is not created by the system installation process.
Select a document to use this document as the header pane. This setting is available only if Document is selected at Use under the Frame – Header section.
Note: You will not be able to save this website configuration if the security level of the selected document is not compatible with the type of website. For the Standard website type, you can use a document of any security level lower than your security level but only documents at the security level of the website visitor is displayed to the visitor. In the case of a public website, select a document with security level "0" to avoid a missing header pane.
Select a picture of type Background to use this picture as the tiled graphic background filling the header pane. This setting is available only if Default is selected at Use under the Frame - Header section.
Select a picture of type Background to insert this picture on the left side of the header pane above the tabbed navigation menu to serve as the top left corner of the tabbed menu. This setting is available only if Tab is selected at Use under the Frame - Header section.
Select a picture of type Background to insert this picture on the right side of the header pane above the tabbed navigation menu to serve as the top right corner of the tabbed menu. This setting is available only if Tab is selected at Use under the Frame - Header section.
Select a color to use this color as the background color of the horizontal or tabbed navigation menu of the header pane. The color strip will reflect your choice of color. This setting is available only if Default or Tab is selected at Use under the Frame - Header section. However, the background color of the horizontal navigation menu is a separate setting from the background color of the tabbed navigation menu.
Note: The selected color is not visible to a web visitor if a picture is selected at Picture under the Frame - Header section while Default is selected at Use under the Frame - Header section. If Use of Frame - Header is Tab, this color will become the color on top of the tabbed navigation menu in the area between the graphics defined at Picture: Left and Picture: Right. If this setting is blank, the background of the horizontal or tabbed navigation menu is transparent and the page background color of the header pane is visible. The page background color of the header pane is influenced by:
This section is available only if Default or Tab is selected at Use under the Frame - Header section. Note: The settings under this section are saved in the system even if you did not select Default or Tab tunder the Frame - Header section. Whenever you revert to using Default or Tab, all your horizontal or tabbed navigation menu items will be available again.
