On this page, you can view the list of existing competence groups. This feature is available only if you set the competency method to Advanced in the HRM general settings. For more information, see Defining HRM general settings.
Considered as one of the key sources of competitive advantage, human capital plays a critical role in an organization. Competency Management is one of the most important tools that help organizations to assess and measure the competence of an individual as well as to identify the key behaviors required for an individual to perform in an excellent manner. This will help them to recognize the right candidates and fit them to the right jobs.
The process steps of the Competency Management functionality in Exact Synergy Enterprise are:
To view the competence groups, function right 505 – View payroll components is required. User with the HR role have this function right. To create and modify competence groups, function right 508 – Maintain payroll components is required. Users with the HR role have this function right.

Select Competency, Skills, Resume, Questionnaire, or Miscellaneous to display the list of competence groups belonging to the selected type.
The list of competence groups is displayed. These competence groups are the main groups that group together a collection of competences. A main group can have up to four levels of competences defined. You can click next to a competence group to view the competences that are grouped in the selected group.
Competences at level 4 must belong to at least a competence at level 3. The competences at level 3 must belong to at least a competence at level 2. The competences at level 2 meanwhile belong to at least one of the competences at level 1.
