This document describes the basic workings of the E-WMS RF Monitor at WMS ➔ Reports ➔ RF Monitor as per release 412.
The RF monitor was redesigned in product update 412, to provide better information about ongoing scanner sessions and usage of hand terminal user licenses.
The RF monitor offers following functionality:
show the status messages and error messages created by the E-WMS RF services; show the current active scanner sessions with statistics per scanner; show the workload per selected scanner reassign orders to other scanners (E-WMS I) block and unblock scanner sessions
In sections Selection and Modules you can make basic selections for the log messages shown in the services panel:
This panel shows messages and errors generated by the E-WMS services. When errors show, these may require your attention.
When validation of picked transactions fails, these will have to be authorized in the corresponding control centre, status 'picking error'.
Failing to process transactions may have a cascading effect, resulting in other related transactions also failing. Not all information (like item codes or quantity) is available in this panel.
In the second panel the scanner sessions are shown. Orders sent picking to a scanner group are shown in a separate row per scanner group.
Orders sent picking to the generic picking queue are shown in a separate row with empty scanner group and empty scanner ID. Depending the checkmark 'Logged in' in top of the screen, inactive scanners can be hidden.
After selecting a scanner in panel 2, the workload for this scanner is shown in panel 3. You can select one or more orders from this workload and reassign these to another scanner, scanner group or to the general picking queue - using the Assign button.
You can find more information about reassigning orders in this document.
The Sessions button opens the Sessions window from the RF Monitor.
The screen shows active sessions, related to the used license module for E-WMS hand terminal users. From release 412 the number of active scanner sessions is validated against your license. If the number of allowed scanners is exceeded, a next user cannot start the corresponding scanner menu.
Using this sessions screen you are able to block a specific scanner session, allowing a new user to log on. This would only be required in exceptional situations, where a scanner session was not ended correctly and is blocking new sessions.
Please note that when blocking a scanner session, that warehouse employee will see an error message (preceded by the last used scan field) on the next scan action and will not be able to finish that scan action.
When a scanner session is blocked, the 'Block' button changes to 'Unblock' when selecting the blocked session.
This way a manager can also unblock a blocked session.
